Sharing your scanned negative images on social media sites

Social media sharing

Creating your own digital archives is great and allows you to preserve your family history, but many people these days want to share their images that have been scanned from 35mm negatives with the whole world. Once Pixave have scanned your negatives for you, you will be able upload your photographs to Twitter, Facebook, google+ and any other site that allows you to share your photographs with your friends.

If you have scanned your negatives at 4800DPI, it is very likely that your social media site will have to reduce the size of the file, and therefore the quality. In this case, you can take control of the quality of your images by using software such as Photoshop to resize your images to make the dimensions, or DPI, smaller, and then upload these smaller copies of your scanned images.

Once you have uploaded your negatives to a site like Facebook, you will even be able to tag your friends so they will see themselves in your old photos! Sharing your images with friends online is a lot easier than inviting them to your house and setting up a projector carousel for them to view your negatives.

Just as in real life, you will also be able to create albums on your social network, e.g. you could create specific folders for events like holidays, birthdays etc, and then you can invite your friends and family to view your online album.
